commitment to International
House continued. She regularly
attended and spoke at IHWO
(International House World
Organisation) conferences, and
visited International House
affiliated schools, spending time
with the management team,
teachers and students. Such
conference talks and school
visits meant the values and
traditions established by John
and Brita continued to remain
alive, relevant and inspiring to
successive generations. There
are now 160 International House
schools and affiliates in 52
countries.
As a fitting accolade, in
2013 Brita was presented with
the British Council ELTons
Lifetime Achievement Award in
recognition of her outstanding
contribution to the profession of
English language teaching.
