In a much-needed boost to educational institutions, international students are keen to get going with their courses abroad.
Statistics from International Student Crossroads Research show that 89% of them are prepared to quarantine on arrival in their host country. Of these, 24% are willing to pay the full cost of the quarantine, with 40% willing to contribute toward the cost.
Further, 57% of those heading to the UK are fully vaccinated and another 31% have stated their intention to become fully vaccinated as soon as possible, even though this is not a current requirement by the UK government to study there.
The UK, Canada and the US are the top destinations for those seeking an on-campus experience, while New Zealand and Australia have slipped down the ranks due to closed borders. The UK in particular can expect a large student influx, with 86% of those applying to courses in the country saying they anticipate their studies going ahead as planned. Part of this optimism may be down to the UK’s offer to vaccinate international students, which makes it a more appealing destination.
