Mindset for IELTS: Student’s Book 1

Cambridge University Press

ISBN 9781316640050

I like the flexibility of this exam preparation book. Teachers can follow each of the eight units by topic in a linear way, or by choosing to focus on one or more language skills (listening, reading, writing or speaking) as appropriate for a particular class. ‘Mindset for IELTS’ aims to take learners with an IELTS score of 4 to 4.5 up to band 5 to 5.5. Whilst following this book, students are also expected to do self- study exercises and practise their General English. The article on ‘parkour’ (free running) is particularly interesting. Student’s Book 2 has been previously reviewed here.
