In a world of fake news, developing our students’ critical thinking skills is more important than ever. ‘Perspectives’ sets out to do just this, with each of the ten units exploring one idea from different perspectives. Each unit covers grammar, vocabulary, and all four language skills and includes a TED talk with the description: ‘Ideas worth sharing’. These talks cover some interesting topics, including Airbnb, spam email and making up new words. I especially enjoyed the unit on creativity. This timely input on critical thinking includes assessing information, detecting bias and distinguishing fact and opinion. Aimed at B2-level learners. Worth investigation.
