A new campus exclusively offering Coventry University qualifications in Singapore has opened its doors.
A key collaborator with Coventry University in Singapore, PSB Academy’s latest Cathay Campus was officially launched on 7 April, during a visit by Professor John Latham CBE, Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University and Group CEO.
Other visitors included Coventry University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International), Professor Richard Wells and Alice Cooke, Acting Deputy High Commissioner from the British High Commission in Singapore.

Located within the iconic Cathay Building, Singapore’s first skyscraper, it features advanced classrooms equipped with motion-tracking cameras that simulate in-person interactions for distance learners.
During the visit a Memorandum of Understanding with PSB Academy was also signed, designed to advance paramedicine education in Singapore. This agreement is intended to help address Singapore’s rising emergency call volumes and workforce shortages.
Professor Latham said: “We’ve worked closely with PSB Academy for more than a decade and it’s a collaboration we value immensely. Over the years we’ve provided valuable qualifications that have served to positively change lives in Singapore and support its economy and services.
“We are very proud to have built positive relationships with respected organisations right across the globe, an approach that not only benefits communities overseas, but also our students in the UK through the sharing of best teaching and research practices.”
Cultivating industry ready graduates
PSB Academy currently offers around 20 Coventry University accredited courses in areas such as business and finance, marketing, tourism and hospitality, engineering, computer science and cyber security, and paramedic science.
Upon successful completion of their course, students graduate with a degree award certificate from Coventry University. The degree certificate is identical to those awarded to students studying in the UK and follows the same quality standards.
In September PSB Academy and Coventry University celebrated ten years of collaboration, which has helped share best research practices and changed lives across the globe.
Derrick Chang, Chief Executive Officer of PSB Academy, added: “The Cathay Campus represents an important evolution in PSB Academy’s mission to cultivate industry-ready graduates that are trained with practical skills for real-world applications. Industry collaborations underpin our approach to education. This expansion of our facilities ensures that students have access to a learning environment that not only meets academic standards but also reflects the needs of today’s workforce.”
Opening dialogue
Coventry University’s Singapore Hub has proved highly effective in helping Coventry University Group to forge new links in the region and Professor Latham participated in a special discussion event called ‘The Dialogue Series’ at the hub during his visit.
The event, entitled Unleashing the Leader Within, saw senior leaders in the business and trade sectors discuss their personal leadership experiences.
