What we are looking for…

EL Gazette is committed to the world of English Language Teaching. We typically publish news, features, research, or interviews on:

Teaching abroad
English examinations
English courses
International students
Teaching methods
Events and conferences
Book reviews

Our style and format

We would like submissions between 500 – 1500 words of engaging, thoughtful, and analytical content. Please ensure it is grammar- and spell-checked, and neatly formatted.

Our readers are ELT professionals from all around the world; when deciding on tone and voice, consider your audience and if it is appropriate for the subject matter.

If you are using in-text references, please include a complete bibliography at the bottom of your submission in Harvard style.

How to submit

Please send all submissions to editor@elgazette.com. Your submission should be attached as a word document, and you should include “SUBMISSION” in the email subject line. If you have any of your own photos you would like us to add to the article, please include these as well.

In a separate document, please also include a photograph of yourself, alongside a short, two or three sentence bio.

We try to respond to all submissions as soon as possible, but please give us up to two weeks to get back to you.

Have a pitch instead?

If you have a story in mind but are unsure if we would like to see it, you are welcome to send your pitch to editor@elgazette.com. Please put your pitch in the body of the email and include “PITCH” in the subject line.

As with submissions, we will aim to get back to you as soon as possible, but please give us up to two weeks to respond.
