University students in Peru will be able to take part in a major English language programme that aims to deliver better learning outcomes.
Cambridge University Press & Assessment, in collaboration with WeTALK, will provide the learning and assessment content for the programme, including a specially tailored version of Cambridge’s Evolve Digital online course. At the end of the course, selected students can take the Linguaskill test to measure their progress.
‘It’s fantastic to be working with WeTALK,’ said Country Manager for Peru at Cambridge, Isabel Tabja. ‘WeTALK’s commitment to improving the English language ability of university students is inspiring […] We’ve provided a very flexible learning and assessment solution to help students achieve a B2 level by graduation.’
For WeTALK, the programme is part of a wider commitment to help students achieve the B2 level of English that they need to graduate. WeTALK was created in 2019 and provides a full virtual English language programme to students at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), Universidad Privada del Norte (UPN) and Cibertec. The programme is also promoted to the general public.
Cambridge and WeTALK will also collaborate on an impact study to look at whether the programme is on track to deliver its aims. Additionally, research will be carried out with teachers and students to measure the impact of the Evolve Digital course on learners’ progress.
Academic Director of WeTALK, Sara Miller said:
‘Cambridge is recognized as a world leader in the English teaching and learning field, and our students appreciate learning from the best. Cambridge’s range of products allowed us to find the materials and exams to build a program that best fit our needs.’
