How can we build community through learning English? Macmillan and International House want to see an outstanding project that brings people together.
Applications are now open for the 2024 Simon Greenall award.
This year, Macmillan Education and International House (IH) are looking for projects that bring people together in a wider community through the development of English Language skills. This can be local, global, or virtual through things such as events, festivals and shows.
Lucky winners will receive tailored guidance and promotion for their project, plus £1500 for resources and equipment.
‘Winning the award helped us to gain visibility as we were able to promote our work through mainstream media,’ said 2021 winner, the Dau Dau Project. ‘The recognition intrigued many teachers to learn more about the project.’
The award is in memory of Simon Greenall OBE, who passed away in 2018. Simon was president of IATEFL from 1997-99, and was described as a friend of the global ELT community who was heavily engaged with global issues in ELT. IH describe Simon as having a deep commitment to bringing people together through learning.
