From a bunker 105 metres under Kyiv, two entrepreneurial Ukrainians, Oleksii Zinchenko and Maryna Gordiienko, launched Grade University.
As reported by tech.eu, Grade University is a self-study platform for English teachers that is the product of Grade Education Centre, whose lineage goes back 15 years and is a Cambridge Exam Test centre, so its pedigree is sound,
Aimed at a global audience, Grade University’s objective is to provide professional development for every teacher, whatever stage they’re at in their learning journey.
But why launch a new enterprise during a war?
“After February 24th [2022], we had to make risky decisions and create a product aimed at an international audience to avoid dependence on the situation in our country,” the co-founders say.
“The biggest challenge was fear and uncertainty about what the future would hold.
“Perhaps such an urge to work was a salvation from the terrible reality for many.
“We continue to work on developing our product, creating new courses, inviting new authors, and fulfilling the wishes of our clients.”
