Add media literacy to your classroom

Concerned about fake news? Or just think that being able to discuss media literacy in your English classroom would take the teaching and learning to another level? If that’s the case, and you’re teaching English in primary or secondary school in Poland, Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania, then jumping on the US Embassy-led MOOC (massive open online course) on English for Media Literacy for Educators could be for you.

The Zoom programme starts on 7 February and continues for seven weekly sessions, during which participants will be introduced to the theory and practice of teaching about media literacy in the English as a foreign language (EFL) classroom through videos and readings. The aim is that by the end of the course, teachers will be able to use media literacy content in their classes, along with a host of other skills.

If you’re keen to take part, visit https://pl.usembassy.gov/mooc/ for full details and how to apply.
