English for Ukraine refugees

English lessons for refugees from Ukraine are being offered free by various agencies.

As well as a number of language apps stepping in to offer their English-teaching app free to anyone from Ukraine (take a bow Busuu), everyone from individuals to schools to state-sponsored programmes are providing ELT without fees.

There’s Russian-language teacher Tatiana Salvage, from Winchester, UK, offering to teach Ukrainians English when they arrive in her area; the UK College of English providing free online classes to children that will be taught by English teachers volunteering their time, to Ireland’s Minister for Further and Higher Education, Simon Harris, speaking to the 16 Education and Training Boards of his country to set up English classes for the thousands of refugees now arriving.
