An odd job

Though the US, UK, Canada, Germany and Australia are now all sending their non-essential embassy staff home from Ukraine amid rising tensions with Russia, we spotted an online recruitment ad for English teachers to come to the country. Its headline reads: ‘Native English Teachers Needed in Ukraine urgently’, and lists a number of enticing benefits, including housing, a 25-hour working week and health insurance. However, under requirements it states that applicants must be from the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand.

While being discriminatory, there’s presumably one more qualification they missed out that might narrow the field even further: ‘Must enjoy a sense of danger’.
