Improving teachers’ skills

The first Partnered Remote Learning Improvement Project (PRELIM) was such a success that now PRELIM II is being launched.

PRELIM is run by the British Council, English UK and IATEFL to improve the confidence, language and teaching skills of English Teaching Association members in 40 countries.

Outcomes from the first PRELIM were overwhelmingly successful, as a report on the findings illustrates, as in this extract:

“In Cameroon, for example, a teacher asserted that ‘I am no more stressed as before. I was scared of making mistakes in front of my students. Thanks to the course, I feel more confident and can teach a whole lesson without using French.’”

Those members who would like to take part are asked to submit their bid by Friday 22 October.

Application forms and more information can be found at www.englishuk.com/prelim-project or https://www.iatefl.org/prelim-2
