It seems that immersive VR is going mainstream, as yet another platform steps up to take a prize.
This time it’s Immerse, an edtech startup that’s created the first virtual reality platform specifically for English language learning. Students enter scenes together, such as a cafe, and place their order, listen to other customers talking and even join in a debate. As well as completing tasks, students can be set problems to solve.
Immerse is designed to be used by English teachers within language schools, so it offers teaching tools and allows educators to customise experiences for their students’ skill level. It’s very much a group experience for whole classes
Now Immerse has been recognised by EdTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence and recognition platform for global technology innovation and leadership, winning its Language Learning Innovation of the Year award. Sounds like a winner.
