Win a prize

The British Council’s IELTS Prize 2021 is now open. Successful applicants will receive £3,000 towards their university tuition fees, bringing the possibility of studying overseas that much closer.

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is accepted by educational institutions, governments for visa and immigration purposes, and work in English speaking countries around the world, including the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

The prize was established to support high-calibre young people reach their academic goals in an English-speaking country, allowing them to experience travel and a different culture.

“Brilliant initiatives such as these not only inspire students to pursue their dreams, but also motivate them to give back to their communities once they’ve established themselves in the world,” says one of 2020’s IELTS Prize recipients, Natasha Naveed, who is now enrolled at the University of Massachusetts.

Applicants for this year’s prize must live in one of the 10 following countries: Bangladesh, Nigeria, Kenya, Italy, Uzbekistan, Columbia, Canada, Egypt, Lebanon and the UK. Applications must be received by 30 June 2021. To enter, visit ieltsasia.org/ieltsprize/about/
